Activities include creating and improving business processes. The individual will support efforts to develop and maintain digital conversational flows and dialogs in support of new and existing natural language processing applications (e.g. Virtual Assistant, Chatbot), ensuring metrics are in place to evaluate the effectiveness of solution implementation. S/he will produce documentation to update and influence various levels of management about overall program status. Role Responsibilities: Collaborates with business analysts and conversational designers to lead development of new natural language process driven conversational flow/dialog solutions and changes to existing applications. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and provides input to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Requires specialized expertise within the areas of linguistics, language modeling grammar, natural language processing, and conversational flow and dialogs. Recommends solutions and best practices. Can rapidly prototype and simulate ideas that solve complex problems. Works independently; with guidance in complex situations. Receives some level of guidance and direction. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Has conversational user interface and natural language processing solution experience (e.g. Virtual Assistant, Chatbot, etc.) and understands how they fit into the artificial intelligence and machine learning landscape. Has strong linguistic and computational knowledge and skills. Practical knowledge of spoken or written interaction and how to process language with computers. Has practical knowledge of formal syntax, formal semantics, corpus analysis, dialogue management. Deep understanding of natural language components (morphology, lexicology, phonetics, pragmatics, automated speech analysis and synthesis). Has a solid understanding of statistics (preferably in applied natural language analysis), mathematics, machine-learning, machine translation, computer-aided language learning (in combination with language studies is an important plus). Has proficiency with html and scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Groovy, etc.). Has a high level of proficiency with SQL or like database functions and languages. Has demonstrated knowledge in object oriented languages like Java, Python, R, Ruby. Has demonstrated knowledge in website, mobile friendly and mobile application development. Has experience with some standard NLP toolkits, such as NLTK, Stanford CoreNLP, or Spacey. Can apply current global best-practices related to Business Process Management/Engineering and how to keep abreast of new best practices as they arise.
