DMV is searching for a professional candidate with a background in leading and managing an enterprise data architecture program. This position is a leadership role and must be able to work with all levels of Agency employees. The incumbent would be responsible for defining and implementing the future state of the DMV Data Architecture to support the DMV Business Data Governance and data driven decision making. Responsibilities: • Architect, design and oversee the development and implementation of the Enterprise Data Architecture Program. • Develop a Master Data Management Strategy and Roadmap. • Define and implement a data architecture and define methodology and controls for data ingestion, hygiene and sharing while maintaining data security and privacy. • Identify and incorporate any current ongoing data ETL processes into the Data Architecture Program. • Build and Manage Data Engineering, Data Analyst and Database Administration Teams. Integrate teams into the business units to define data and data elements. • Implement Data Strategies to support a variety of end user types and tools. • Consolidate multiple data /reporting environments into a scalable deployment capable of supporting internal and client facing reporting solutions. • Implement a standard data ingestion “hub” to act a “single source of truth” for all Agency Data repositories • Implement data warehouse design to optimize data model, improve nightly refresh cycles and improve report response time. Facilitate needs assessment for reporting tool selection and drive adoption across multiple teams. • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Enterprise Architecture and Security Policies. Key Skills: • Expert in managing cloud-based data architecture services and frameworks, preferably Microsoft Azure. • Expert in managing data repositories for data warehousing, data lakes, data marts, OLAP cubes, etc. • Strong understanding of data protection and data governance • Ability to construct and communicate via conceptual, logical, and physical modeling. • Expertise on relational, object-oriented, NoSQL, time-based data models. • Expertise with data visualization, data migration and data modeling Required experience: • Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field. • Proven experience in Technology Leadership. • A minimum of 5 years experience in Data Architecture implementation or similar experience. • Experience with cloud computing design and architecture. • Strong attention to detail in evaluating data for accuracy and errors. • Ability to problem-solve under pressure in complex situations. • Methodical and logical approach to planning and organization. • Excellent communication skills. • Excellent time management skills and goal-oriented personality. • Willingness to work long hours, beyond what would be considered standard. • Ability to work productively in an office environment, and with multiple teams.
