The Senior Business/Systems Analyst will report to the Manager for the Executive & District Applications Team, but will work across multiple projects and organizations to perform business and systems analysis activities and tasks. Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organizations systems and capabilities. Analyzes business partners operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprises competitive edge. May make recommendations for buy vs. build decision. 5 Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience 3 to 5 years of business/systems analysis experience. 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The submitted candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks: 1. Facilitate joint analysis workshops with customers. 2. Research and understand DOT business processes and their inter-relationships. 3. Gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements 4. Assist customers with development of business cases. 5. Develop business, system, and database analysis and design models with Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect and Visio using Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), and other methods. 6. Perform oversight reviews of requirements deliverables for compliance with department standards. 7. Produce project documents per AST 74.1 project management requirements. 8.
