Job Description Developer: Drupal, Linux, MY SQL, Web Application Development PHP

Description:

As part of the Software Engineering Team in Campus Technologies Services, the Senior Drupal Developer will develop web and applications solutions for the Drupal platform. Work will include evaluating contributed modules, writing custom modules as needed, leveraging the Drupal API, and implementing code to address functional requirements.
This position requires at least 5 years experience with web and applications development, at least 2 years of Drupal experience developing websites and custom modules (submit coding examples and provide references).



Responsibilities:

* Drupal Development and PHP programming:
* Develops web and applications solutions, which may include complex and/or unprecedented needs and problems; solutions will consider security, reliability, ease of use, administration, maintenance, and upgrade path.
* Evaluates contributed modules and writes custom modules as needed.
* Designs, develops, modifies, debugs, and evaluates Drupal solutions for specific projects.
* Leverages the Drupal API and implements code to address functional requirements.
* Stays current with latest Drupal developments and emerging technologies
* Additional responsibilities will include technical and functional analysis, and collaborating with development team in operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and support.

Required Skills:

* 5+ years experience with web and applications development.
* 2+ years of Drupal experience developing websites and custom modules (submit coding examples and provide references).
* Experience with the Drupal API and implementing code.
* Strong PHP development skills. Requires strong knowledge of applications programming function.
* Strong knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, CSS, HTML, XHTML, Javascript, jQuery.
* Experience upgrading Drupal sites between major versions.
* Experience with search optimization and application of taxonomies.
* Knowledge of application design and integration.
* Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities; a team player comfortable working in various groups and collaborating with management, developers, and stakeholders.
* Experience with IT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with ability to make recommendations on approach for specific projects.
* Strong understanding of web architectures that foster modularity, layering, and reusability.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work with managers and professionals at all levels within the organization.
* Experience with web 2.0 solutions and trends.
* High commitment to excellence, collaboration, team achievement, and good communication.
* Background check required.

Desired Skills:

* Systems administration and DBA experience.
* Experience with mobile sites, mobile apps, and intranets.
* Active participation in Drupal community.
* HTML5, XML Parsing, Ajax experience.
* Experience with JIRA or other issue tracking system.
* Rich interactive applications experience.
* Experience with web services.
* Knowledge of Java, Rails, other frameworks.
* Experience with higher-education websites.
