The following background information is intended to help respondents understand the needs of DSU. DSU will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. The current bookstore has been in continual operation in the DSU Student Center since 2003. DSU is considering a partnership with a qualified firm, business or entrepreneur to provide information and ideas that may be used in establishing an RFP to meet that goal prior to July 1, 2017, if possible. The current bookstore is located on the first floor of the DSU Student Center and is comprised of a sales area 2,475 sq. ft., 2 offices 364 sq. ft., and 2 storage areas 1,068 sq. ft. The current software systems include MBS (Missouri Book Systems) for POS System Hardware and Software and MBS Hosted applications and Insite Application Software. The DSU Bookstore, over the past five years, has had cumulative gross sales at approximately $5.3M; of which book transactions account for approximately 75% of that total. DSU currently has a total enrollment of approximately1,400 students of which 300 reside on campus. The University has implemented an aggressive enrollment management strategy with a goal of 2,000 students within the next five years; and an overall increase in residence hall occupancy. DSU currently offers 40 Bachelor Degree 4 Associates Degree Programs. DSU is requesting responses from firms offering and currently operating university proven and tested bookstore programs.
