Experience: This individual must have 5 years EDW and BI development experience. They must also have excellent data analyst and architectural skills. SQL Server is a must! This position is in a matrixed environment so individuals need to be okay with that and know how to manage it. SCRUM TEAM – SOFTWARE ENGINEER – SQL SERVER DEVELOPER Position Description This position is responsible to design, develop, implement, test, and analyze programs interacting with data store and data warehouse data. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying existing data throughout the production lifecycle. The software engineer will also analyze and amend data errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required. An active and self-motivated Scrum team member, you contribute to successful delivery of a member health care encounters systems solution. Contribute to performance, integration, and unit testing; coordinate user acceptance testing, facilitate meetings, and perform research and analysis. ·Possess strong understanding of database design concepts and deliver stable and scalable programmatic solutions. ·Maximize hands-on knowledge of SQL programming development, SQL tuning, data profiling, and query optimization. ·Utilize excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and technical skills. ·Collaborate with appropriate project subject matter experts to gather, document, and confirm business and technical requirements. ·Assist the technical resources in understanding and translating business requirements for the purpose of developing functional requirements. ·Provide effective written and oral communication to key EDW stakeholders to report progress and to identify risks and constraints. ·Assist product owner with product backlog management, user story development, and prioritization ·Participate in Sprint planning, review, retrospective, and daily scrum stand ups. Provide transparent and continual feedback to Scrum team members and post-sprint updates to product owner for backlog refinement. ·Other projects and duties as assigned. Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Required Experience Five years of Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence development experience. Excellent data analyst and architecture skills. Experience with data modeling and schema design techniques. Three years of working experience in general database development using MS-SQL Server and XML. Focus will be on writing optimal T-SQL queries, stored procedures, view creation, reading query plans, tuning, and troubleshooting issues. Must have good problem solving, analytical and communication abilities. Basic understanding of BizTalk.
