A Backup Engineer at Forest is responsible for the design, development, implementation and management of Forests enterprise backup and recovery systems. The ideal candidate will have (5) years experience with EMC Networker (Legato) or similar enterprise backups platform, a thorough understanding of enterprise level backup infrastructure, and experience in designing backup solutions to meet Service Level Agreements. This position will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with project managers and Infrastructure engineers providing technical support for all backup and recovery related projects. Strong attention to detail Ability to interact with management Results oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills (5) years of enterprise backup experience using EMC Networker or similar platform along with experience in designing and implementing virtual tape technologies. 1. The design, development of enterprise backup and recovery solutions for various projects using EMC, DataDomain and ADIC technologies. 2. Management of administration of onsite backup and restore infrastructure, and offsite data storage. 3. Utilize Timefinder local replication in multi-terabyte database backup solutions in order to meet RTO and RPO requirements. 4. Act as a liaison to other departments on all technical matters related to backup and recovery. 5. Generate management required utilization reports detailing capacity, performance, application utilization, etc. 6. Perform routine capacity planning of Forest backup infrastructure (i.e. Physical tape libraries, Networker Servers, VTL etc.) 7. Maintenance of backup environments, scheduling of firmware updates and hardware procedures. 8. Work with administration teams across the enterprise to understand and meet their backup and restore requirements. 9.
