Description:*

Duration: contract through the end of the year, with possible extension into 2020 if going well

Manager Notes:

· Supporting the ETL team, ETL is a plus, but not required

· Manual testing

· Functional testing of EDW and ETL platforms, ETL testing, data mapping testing, not required though

· Strong SQL, this is a MUST, this is a big focus

· Testing on Business Objects is a plus, but not required

· Strong communication, will be talking to users and pairing with developers and helping to lead the team and facilitate tasks on a daily basis



Job Description:

The Data Quality Analyst plays a vital role in the Data Governance team by helping drive the strategy for building and maintaining high-quality, fit-for-consumption data that meets the needs of enterprise data consumers. The Data Quality Analysts mission is to enable customer and Vixxo success by delivering best in class data quality processes that help simplify operations, enhance analytical capabilities and enable better business decisions. The Data Quality Analyst will work with data stewards, data owners, Master Data Management analysts, Operations teams and IT partners across the organization to drive the enterprise Data Quality program. Data research and analysis, cross-functional requirements gathering and documentation and solution development are key aspects of the role. The Data Quality Analyst supports reactive Data Quality by researching and fixing known data issues and proactive Data Quality by defining the requirements for data controls and enhancements to data capture, monitoring and maintenance processes, procedures and standards.



Essential Functions:

· Performs analysis on known data quality issues and develops and/or recommends operational or technical solutions for remediation, including development and implementation of automated data quality controls that proactively trigger notifications to process owners when data is out of range. Keeps stakeholders informed of progress and solutions in a timely manner.

· Autonomously, and proactively performs data profiling to explore data, identify issues and summarize findings.

· Defines data quality metrics to assess completeness, accuracy, consistency, and conformance to business rules. Designs dashboards to support continuous monitoring and measurement of data quality.

· Partners with IT to cleanse data to achieve the desired level of data quality

· Partners with data stakeholders, process and product owners across the organization to define data standards and communicate changes to data capture procedures, processes, standards, and controls.

· Cleanses and prepares datasets to be consumed by data scientists and other analysts

About You:

· Bachelors in MIS, Information Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or other related field required

· 4+ years of experience working with and analyzing data

· Strong analytical and reasoning skills with track record of exercising good business judgment

· Knowledge of data quality best practices and exceptional attention to detail

· Ability to define problems statements, extract, analyze and interpret large data sets and draw valid conclusions

· Solid understanding of enterprise data warehouses, data management principles, reporting, and the business processes that generate data

· Ability to apply mathematical operations to calculate frequency distributions, tests of statistical significance, analysis of variance, correlation techniques,
