Job Description Developer: Bi Developer, SQL, ETL, .NET

Position description:

We have an immediate need for a skilled business intelligence professional with diverse experience in various roles (e.g. analyst, data modeler, ETL development, database development) and in depth working experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform (i.e. SQL Server, SharePoint) to work as a member of our business intelligence and data warehouse team located in Portland, Oregon.



Our need includes a person who can work with a variety of business and IT functions and their respective end-user/SME and developer communities. This individual would be a member of a small, highly skilled and integrated team that shares many varied tasks and responsibilities.
Qualifications



Key Requirements:

· At least 5 years experience working as a business intelligence and data warehouse professional supporting various business functions in a variety of roles - e.g. data/systems analyst, data modeler, ETL developer, database developer.

· Solid understanding of fundamental business intelligence and data warehouse design and development methodologies and best practices.

· Strong problem-solving and metadata skills, translation of business questions and requirements into reports, views and business intelligence query objects.

· Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence and data warehouse tool and platform architectures, functions and features.

· 5+ years experience with requirements gathering, analysis and design of ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

· 3+ years experience end-user reporting definition, development and platform support using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

· 3+ years experience OLAP definition, development and support using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

· 3+ years experience database development and light DBA skills with SQL Server 2005/8.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to document and communicate complex technical issues.

· Must be a committed team-player working in a dynamic environment and able to move between various business intelligence and data warehouse projects and adapt to changing needs and new initiatives.

Desired:

· Agile business intelligence software development life-cycle experience.

· Experience developing and implementing end-user business intelligence applications and tools within the Microsoft business intelligence application development framework (e.g. SharePoint, Silverlight/WPF, .Net/C#/ASP).

· Working knowledge and experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), or similar application lifecycle management platform.

· Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Business Intelligence Developer.

· Functional areas of knowledge: logistics, transportation, warehousing.
