Job Description Developer: ETL, Informatica, Data Architect, -

Job Summary: Work with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards. Involved in all phases of the full systems life cycle. Responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting ETL (Informatica) components within a Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse environment. Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations. Responsible for translating functional requirements into detailed ETL technical design specification & recommend solution options. Responsible for design, development, testing, implementation and support of ETL components. Responsibilities: · Work with Business Analysts and Data Architects to understand business needs and requirements in order to build new ETL processes · Work with Architecture team and ETL team to design and provide architectural review of the new ETL processes prior to development to ensure the best practices · Ensure specifications are created and maintained for new ETL processes · Help define and enforce standards and procedures for Data Warehouse, and Data Mart ETL processes · Design & execute Unit & Integration test plans for Informatica mappings/sessions according to spec · Educating and advising application technologists and business partners on the use of ETL tools and processes as well as the best approach for ETL of new business subject areas · Learn and maintain the existing data warehouse ETL environments and processes as needed · Develop new ETL processes for new business subject areas into data warehouse(s) & data marts · Provide production support for ETL processes on a routing schedule · Analysis/Design: Analyzes moderately complex business requirements and performs feasibility studies for projects typically of a medium scope and complexity. Analyze environmental requirements, conversion requirements and file structures between systems. Designs data models. Interpret business requirements and prepare system design documents for projects. Design data integrity requirements and environmental requirement. Develop program specifications and flowcharts for programs. · Coding: Develop and maintain code utilizing Informatica. Provides thorough internal program documentation. Conduct and participates in code walkthroughs. · Testing: Develop and execute unit, system, integration and stress test plans. Assist quality assurance testing teams. · Communication: Provide input to peers, management and customers for recommendations and alternate solutions and/or improvements. Convey and insure the understanding of technical strategies and vision to project participants. Convey problems, solutions, updates and project status to their peers, customers and management. Develop and maintains program and system documentation. · Documentation: Prepare design documentation. Ensure that the scope and intent of the design architecture is clearly reflected and accounted for in the supporting documentation for the Developers. · Planning/Process Management: Prepares sound time estimates for all phases of technical design projects. Function as technical resource on appropriate projects throughout the full project lifecycle. · Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
