The AIX PLM Project exists to upgrade, migrate, consolidate, and decom the installed base of AIX servers onto supported levels of hardware and software using a minimal and cost effective datacenter footprint. IDEAL BACKGROUND: The ideal candidate will be a Storage Engineer with background in Hitachi arrays, Hitachi SAN replication, and Brocade SAN switches. TOP REQUIREMENTS: - Knowledge of Hitachi G1000/G1500 storage arrays. - Knowledge of Hitachi SAN replication. - Knowledge of Brocade SAN switches. What experience will set candidates apart from one another? Additional experience with Storage array performance analysis. This person will be part of a team consisting of Project Managers, AIX Engineers, Storage Engineers, and Leadership. This person will be the main contributor from the Storage Team. What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis) * Represents the SAN team on all project meeting. * Works closely with SAN Capacity management team to ensure there are adequate capacity available for the migrations. * Provides guidance to the project team on migration methods (SAN replication or Host based migrations). * Configure SAN replication between storage arrays. * Assist during migration events by splitting SAN replication and presenting the replicated storage to the target server through fiber channel zoning. Migration events will occur on evenings and weekends. * Post migration clean up - Clean up replication, old zones, and old LUNs on the source array. * Other task as needed to ensure Operational stability. What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities? * Strong knowledge of Hitachi tool sets, specifically Hitachi Command Suite and Hitachi Storage Navigator. * Strong knowledge in Brocade Network Advisor. What skills/attributes are a must have? * Knowledge of Hitachi G1000 and G1500 storage arrays. * Knowledge of Hitachi storage provisioning and storage reclamation. * Knowledge of SAN replication, Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR). * Knowledge of Brocade DCX SAN switches. * Knowledge of Brocade Network Advisor (BNA). * Knowledge of array performance analysis.
