In person interviews are preferred. Description: The Division of Medicaid Systems is looking for a Business Analyst/Business Data Analyst. Business Analysts must be able to define a business problem, elicit and document requirements, determine a business solution, and verify that the solution meets the requirements. If a technology solution is needed then the analyst works with technical staff to design the solution. Business data analysts write scripts to analyze data and perform specific data queries. This position will require experience and current working knowledge in analytics using T-SQL. Primary Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): Production Support for the Medicaid Waiver Management Application. Perform Quality Assurance Activities. Under general supervision, collaborate with System Analysts and Software Developers to compile and write test plans and test cases for a variety of project and system releases. Execute test plans, test cases, and record results. Continuously learn system functionality and use cases from both an IT and business perspective. Document defects and collaborate with the team to get to root cause and ensure solutions are correct. Product tracking reports for project defect and testing status. Practice and enforce quality assurance processes as they apply to the technical testing functions. Meetings with business partners. Document requirements. Production support – work with multiple systems while coordinating production fixes. Troubleshooting application and/or interfaces as problems arise. Troubleshooting report issues. Work with user community and vendors to meet implementation timeline. Support application/project go-live. Demonstrating a high level of working knowledge with IS methodologies and processes (i.e. Project Life Cycle, System Development Life Cycle and IS Change Management process). Facilitating business/functional requirement review, approval, and sign-off sessions. Conducting and directing end-user testing responsibilities. Administer communication activities with end-user training for system implementation. Write scripts for complex ad-hoc reports using T-SQL and Microsoft SSMS. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Data comparison between multiple systems. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel). Prior healthcare experience. 5+ years working in a Business Data Analyst position. Experience defining business problems, gathering and documenting requirements, determining business solutions and verifying solutions meet requirements. Strong understanding of SDLC methodology. Ability to handle extreme workloads with general direction. Relationship management and facilitation skills. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people. Proficient problem solving skills. Strong decision making ability. Strong analytic skills. Must be adaptable to change in a fast paced environment. Must be detail-oriented. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in conjunction with team members.
