Qualifications: Development and Automation skills and knowledge (most important) - automation against AWS APIs Python – MUST Cloud - AWS - MUST (Azure and openstack platforms a plus in addition) Monitoring – Splunk - must DevOps background - preferred Security – nice to have Hashicorp and terraform – nice to have Security or AWS certs – huge plus!! Security monkey or Demisto for automation - plus DevOps Developer / Automation Engineer Summary You will be responsible for API, Application/Web, Tool and Automation development primarily in a DevOps environment. Principal activities will include development, maintenance and test automation of projects/tools. Experience with Linux and a dynamic programming language such as Ruby and/or Python is essential. You will work closely with other team-members and will be expected to contribute code within an Agile development framework. Core Responsibilities * Partners with Ops and Product stakeholders to develop applications and tools in a business / customer experience driven framework. * Bridges applications and tools with databases and interconnected systems through APIs. * Leads the integration of projects into operations including instrumentation, automation, standardization, and methods/procedures. * Subject Matter Expert (SME) in designing, architecting, optimizing, and implementing robust and scalable infrastructure for the T&PS organization * Contributes configuration management code and documentation for secure infrastructure that supports products that perform data ingestion, real time streaming, batch processing, data extraction, transformation, and loading across a broad portion of the big data tools and frameworks * Creates prototypes in a lean / agile manner in order to influence product direction. * Documents development efforts through system design flows, data models, etc. * Performs complex and routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering. * Utilizes resources to solve complex development problems and recommends new resources to management. * Utilizes best practices and clearly defined standards, methods, and procedures. * Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Skills & Abilities * Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Test Driven Development (TDD) and Agile methodologies * Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt Stack * Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Hashicorp Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and more * Experience with monitoring, alarming, and visualization technologies (e.g. Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK), Splunk, and more) to develop and prototype security monitoring and alerting capabilities * Fluency and understanding of multiple interpreted and/or compiled programming languages for large scale analysis (e.g. Go, Java, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Scala) * Experience in using DevOps tools and methodologies to automate the configuration of hosting environments, including database administration, and scaling an application to support load changes * Fluency in acquiring data securely from APIs, data queues, flat-file, and remote DB sources as well as creating and modifying APIs for downstream consumers and data transformation * Familiarity of information/n   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
