Submission Deadline: 7/29/2019 2:00 PM CDT Start Date: 9/9/2019 End Date: 9/8/2020 Client: DHS Description: DHS is seeking a Senior Oracle Engineered System Administrator who will support the implementation and ongoing operations of system modernization efforts including evaluation, recommendation, planning, installing, testing and maintaining the system software and hardware necessary to support Oracle databases for the DHS systems. The contracted resource will work closely with state staff to ensure systems modernization efforts are completed accurately and on time. It is the ongoing commitment of MNIT Services @ DHS to provide technology solutions that are reliable and flexible enough to meet fluctuating customer demand and increasing expectation of 7x24x365 system availability, all while decreasing ongoing support expenses. Resource will be expected to work onsite at 345 Plato Blvd, St. Paul, MN, or as DHS directs otherwise. There will be a period for which the resource will need to work on location in an office at the DHS Brown and Bigelow location until the resource learns the environment, procedures, and security protocols. After that, DHS may permit, subject to its sole discretion, the resource to work remotely. Resources must be available for forty (40) hour work weeks except for State holidays or other exceptions that DHS approves or that the response identifies. DHS may expect resources to work up to fifty (50) hours per week depending on project volume. DHS may adjust daily start and end times depending on the timing and duration of certain tasks assigned, and the need to work in coordination with other teams. The State anticipates that in order to perform the work on the systems, resources will be able to access information about individuals that contains data that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act classifies as "protected health information" and that Minnesota law classifies as "not-public data." The State will therefore require the vendor to sign the business associate agreement attached as a prerequisite. Tasks • Proactively propose and develop strategic database improvements in technical areas of database implementation, automated monitoring, support and enhancement. • Design, develop and implement operating system (OS) level scripts to automate routine maintenance and similar functions. • Maintain sound back-up and recovery procedures by participating in periodic back-up audits. • Provide technical expertise and leadership over current and future system production, database administration (DBA) functions and governance. • Working with Oracle Support and Field Engineers, troubleshoot Oracle hardware/system failures • Administrator Oracle Solaris Logical Domains • Coordinate interaction with vendor support in critical database problems. • Implement System password management and change policies • Patch, upgrade, and Administrator wide range of Oracle Engineered system configurations • Validate and test Clustered Solution setups • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to MNIT Services, MNsure and DHS physical and logical security policy and standards. • Design and implement advanced replication strategies. • Develop system procedures and disaster recovery plan for the Oracle database environment at the Department of Human Services and MNIT Services. • Collaborate with Network Engineering, Virtual Machine (VM) Server technical team and other technical leads to manage performance, identify gaps in system processing and develop and execute mitigation plans. • Analyze and develop plans for complex data transformation, data downlo   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
