The Division does this through data collection, data management, and analysis. Planning and Asset Management is responsible for the management of data systems used within the division and to assist all division sections with the analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS) display, and reporting of such data. The Pavement Management Section is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and distributing state highway pavement condition and profile data needed to provide customers with strategic highway system recommendations. • Bridge Division The Bridge Management Section of the Bridge Division is responsible for inspection and management of North Dakota State bridges and drainage, lighting, signal, and sign structures. • Maintenance Division The Maintenance Division is responsible for NDDOT property and facilities; non-project related Right-of-Way; and budgeting for Maintenance operations, capital improvements, Maintenance equipment, pavement marking program, static traffic signs, and the pavement preservation program. • Information Technology The Information Technology Division is responsible for project management, overseeing integration and security of proposed solution. Provides network, hardware/software, and other technology equipment support along with technical training. • Districts The NDDOT is divided into eight district offices throughout the state. Each district has eight to ten section shops and each shop has between one and eight Transportation Technicians. The Districts manage the operational needs of the NDDOT. The Districts are responsible for highway construction, engineering and administration, roadway and bridge Maintenance, roadside maintenance, building and rest area/visitor center maintenance, materials testing, equipment and vehicle maintenance, traffic engineering, and highway sign maintenance. • Materials Division The Materials and Research Division is responsible for providing pavement design recommendations, geotechnical investigation and design recommendations, gravel prospecting, research and analysis of new construction related materials and processes, technical certification program and testing in-house or by contract materials incorporated into highway construction projects. • Construction Division Construction Services Division is responsible for highway construction bid openings, contracts, and contract payments. The Division provides services in construction scheduling, engineering reviews, contractor claims, construction records, and various other services. Construction Services Division oversees the Departments Construction Automated Records System (CARS) program, which is used for record keeping during highway project construction. Construction project personnel use CARS to enter and track quantities, track certifications, create project diaries & inspection diaries, upload documents, create change orders, and create progressive estimates. • Programming Division Programming Division is responsible for coordinating the development of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, managing federal funds, implementing the Departments scoping process, and completing traffic operations activities.
