Job Description Architect: Java Experience, GIT, Teradata, Data Architect Jenkins

Description:
Reporting into the Senior Manager of Data Integration & Stewardship, this role will be responsible for standing up the national data architecture framework for the residential sales enterprise, creating both sales-channel and scenario-specific schemas to help automate and scale downstream analytical capabilities for the National Sales Operations (NSO) organization.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Design and create dimensional modeling/schema definitions for various residential sales channels with regard to their sales performance, sales operations/activities, and other core subjects of analyses. This role will convert complex business problems and inefficiencies into optimized, efficient design frameworks that can be engineered and provide much needed context and detail to drive the business forward
Partner with Data Operations peers (integration, engineering, etc.) to understand source data contingencies and related specific relationship entities to help enable curated architecture to flow downstream into automated feeds in our data warehouse and business intelligence suite
Lead and facilitate data profiling, lineage definitions, and stewardship training/hand-off as it pertains to each technical project delivery, allowing for knowledge transfers/inherent collaboration to help foster additional requirements, data quality contingencies, and end-user (internal and external analysts) support training/guidance
Document and support all entity and relationship diagrams for all residential sales architecture projects, clarifying and “professionalizing” the residential sales domains “data mart”

Foundational/Technical Skills:

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Statistics or related discipline is required
At least 3 years of data platform & programming experience, inclusive of building scalable data architecture (source data analysis, schema/architecture/design, etc. through full-fledged data asset deployment)
Strong experience with both Teradata and Hadoop (HDFS, YARN) is absolutely required
Experience with Spark (AWS EMR), Spark Streaming & Batch, Hives SQL/Java, Kafka, MemSQL, Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB (NoSQL), Java, Scala, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Rancher, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Oracle, and related skills/tools are all strongly preferred.

Business Skills:

Advanced technical design and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively learn new business tools and processes
Self-motived and works at a high-level independently, even with limited or ambiguous requirements/direction
Project Management/knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Exposure to agile development methodology will be helpful, but not required

Sample/Targeted Projects:

From the ground up, deliver star/snowflake-like schemas that define how to create a singular, universal employee identification master record for the residential sales enterprise (building out all necessary, required dimensions and facts that integrate all various source systems; this would allow for one source of truth to help define specific personas, enable automatic onboarding/offboarding, and synchronize/centralize integrations into all consuming business systems (truly aligning the enterprise on “who is who” at any given point in time)
Strongly influence the direction of a national sales structure/hierarchy project that serves two core purposes: 1) Integrates data from our SAP employee data mart with other core systems to align internal employees to their administrative and operational managers (creating disparate 1:1 and 1:M relationships) and 2) Creates dedicated sub-data marts for each residential sales channel, providing visibility and transparency into the core operations of each line of business
