Job Description : Position: Systems Administrator/Engineer Location: Portland, Oregon Duration: Long term ongoing contract- no end date- 80% of this clients work force are contractors and some have been contracting anywhere from 3- 10 years Rate: Depends on experience Responsibilities will include: Maintaining Existing Puppet Infrastructure, open source and enterprise. Ability to troubleshoot Puppet server issues and Client issues Full knowledge of how to write puppet Modules. Full knowledge of Puppet and Git integration Responsible for Puppet Server software upgrades, keeping us in line with current versions. Day to Day Responsibilities: Looking for someone to come in and look at current infrastructure and provide insight/guidance on how to improve and make it better. Will need to have worked in an enterprise-level environment for Puppet to understand infrastructure. Main day-to-day is troubleshooting, administering, and upgrading the Puppet modules Need someone who understands Puppet Modules and can inform/guide the team on why modules are incorrect or why they need upgrades. Will need to lead the Puppet infrastructure and determine when features/upgrades are needed. Not necessarily looking for a "Lead" in general, just someone who can lead the Puppet processes forward. Capable to training/teaching others on Puppet modules Taking over all the Puppet Administration and being the primary Puppet Engineer for this team they have mostly Linux machines, but this person can be strong in either Windows or Linux (either is fine).
