This position will have responsibility for the planning, coordination, and implementation of compliance to health information exchange standards during the onboarding and in-production periods for the IR program as participating health care providers are transitions from submitting Covid vaccine to the Covid Vaccine Management System to the NC Immunization Registry. Position will conduct ongoing quality control processes associated with programs such as IR production data and reconciliation of daily IR files. Position will apply, institute, and maintain Information Exchange Standards policy and process within the North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) (i.e. NC HealthConnex) inclusive of IR information. This information exchange position coordinates and creates schedules and application interfaces to exchange patient/disease data, inclusive of immunization registry (IR). Position ensures standard exchange protocol such as HL7 compliance, standard vocabulary, etc. is utilized for moving health information, clinical data between independent medical applications, in near real time. Position ensures the information exchange processes accurately report health information data and maintain privacy and security of data under current HIPAA and other applicable standards. Position will develop and apply system application code (programming) that uses standards and governance to support local and national exchange of health information.
