Position Description: Seeking an experienced BlackBerry developer to design, develop, build, and deploy mobile applications for BlackBerry devices (e.g. Playbook) that can demonstrate capabilities. Key Roles & Responsibilities: · Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing mobile products · Planning, analyzing, designing, developing, coding, debugging and document programming to satisfy business requirements for large government agency while adhering to architecture standards · Assist in identifying and resolving issues associated with the deployment and use mobile application · Provide technical guidance and support for personnel maintaining developed mobile application reviews · Understands technical and functional design requirements · Understands infrastructure design documents · Designs and tests solutions · Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively · Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps · Participation in providing training to customers as required Required 3+ years of professional software development experience in Java Experience developing applications for BlackBerry mobile devices Experience developing downloadable applications for transmission through the BlackBerry Server Experience with BlackBerry HTML5, XHTML5, JavaScript, and Cognos Experience developing simple applications that demonstrate BlackBerry Playbook capabilities Highly proficient using BlackBerry WebWorks and Adobe Air Minimum 2-3 years of BlackBerry or J2ME mobile software development experience Solid understanding of the intricacies of the BlackBerry platform, including: Data request model Building custom UI and layout controls Compatibility across a range of screen types and OS levels Familiarity with the BlackBerry application lifecycle Proficient in the following technologies: Java language and related frameworks Multi-Threading and memory management specific to mobile devices Understanding of caching mechanisms Experience implementing custom user interfaces on mobile devices Demonstrated experience in objective-oriented design and development of applications and systems. Experience deploying Mobile Applications. Experience with software development in a large corporate IT environment requiring a formalized development process, documentation, unit testing, and release management. Strong User Interface skills Desired · Experience with Eclipse based Blackberry development · Experience on multiple versions of Blackberry OS (i.e. 5.x and 6.x) · Experience coding REST and SOAP call on Blackberry devices to servers · Experience writing code using Location Based APIs, Network Communication APIs, User Interface APIs · Experience digitally signed Blackberry applications · Experience setting up Web-Based deployment of Blackberry Application · Good understanding of the Mobile Browsers in general and Blackberry Browser in particular · Experience debugging using the Blackberry Emulator Education and Certifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline and experience.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
