Job Description Developer: Java Frameworks, HTML, Oracle, MS SQL

The selected candidate will work in the capacity of a Software Developer and will be responsible for:
- The design, development and implementation of enhancements to the current NC-JOIN system.
- Provide technical analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation and maintenance support.
- Adhere to application development frameworks to ensure reusability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility and ease-of-use in conjunction with the State?s technical architectural standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve application development team productivity and quality of deliverables.
- Participating in all design team and prototype meetings.
- Reviewing all business functional, security, migration, and reporting documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Required:
- BS degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum (1) one year of software development experience.
- Knowledgeable in Java frameworks (i.e. Java, JSP, servlets, Struts, Grails, Grovey, Hibernate, etc.)
- Experience in web-based development using HTML, Javascript, etc.
- Experience with relational databases (i.e. DB2, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of object-oriented methodology
- Excellent verbal communication
- Experience working within a project team environment
- Knowledgeable of process diagram software (i.e. Visio) and MS Office

Preferred:
- Reporting components (e.g. BIRT Reports, Crystal Reports, Data Warehousing, etc.)
- Other experience in current development trends (i.e. Grails, Groovy, Spring, Hibernate, Ajax, Web services, etc.)
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- SoftScape Lightyear experience
