Why youll love this job * This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division * Responsible for leveraging cutting edge technology to solve business problems at American Airlines by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct and test reusable objects, and making the codebase a better place to live and work What youll do * Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements * Maintains and enhances existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain driven design and test-driven development * Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions * Creates detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates * Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance * Supports the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines * Works closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs All youll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience * iOS and Android Performance Testing experience. * 3 years experience with automation testing. * Proven working experience with custom Java development (not Selenium-based Java only) and object oriented design. * 3 years hands-on experience with test automation tools including Appium, Selenium, Rest Assured, and Cucumber. Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience * Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training * 5 years hands-on experience with test automation tools including Appium, Selenium, Rest Assured, and Cucumber. * Airline Industry experience Skills, Licenses & Certifications * Knowledge of AJAX, HTTP, REST, XML, JSON and SQL technologies * Experience coding and/or scripting of Python, JavaScript, Perl or Bash programs * Experience with testing in an agile workflow utilizing TDD/BDD best practices in a continuous integration environment * Good working knowledge of the Cloud (Azure), Observability & Traceability * Code craftsmanship; rigor in high code quality, automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber), and agile engineering best practices * Able to work within a Git/Gitflow-based multi-branched software environment. * Preferred experience with Java development tooling: Maven and/or Gradle. * Used continuous integration environments like AzureDevOps, Jenkins. * Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills * Familiarity with agile software development methodologies * Experience working with distributed teams across locations   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
