This relies on systems engineering principles to design and implement solutions that span the data lifecycle to: collect, ingest, process, transform, store, persist, access, and deliver data at scale and at speed. It includes knowledge of local, distributed, and cloud-based technologies; data transformation and smart caching; and all security and authentication mechanisms required to protect the data. Key Responsibilities · Extract, Transform and Load data primarily in Informatica Powercenter and Big Data Management. · Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources that are ready for analysis · Design and implement data solutions by defining functional capabilities, security, back-up, and · recovery specifications · Running enterprise class information management solutions across a variety of technologies (e.g. big data, master data, data profiling, batch processing, · and data indexing technologies · Work through all stages of a data solution lifecycle, e.g., analyze / profile data, create conceptual, logical and physical data model designs, architect and · design ETL, reporting and analytics · Maintain data movement performance by identifying and resolving production and application development, jobs and schedule problems; calculating · optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases · Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for data objects · Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data processing and storage · Write complex queries that can scale to meet requirements · Verification/validation that data solutions and/or system performance meets requirements · Document data definitions, dictionaries, and architectures · Define how data will be collected, what data will be needed, constraints to be considered · Use data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and discover opportunities in datasets to · support decision-making · Understand the models and interpret, extrapolate, and prescribe from data to deliver actionable recommendations using effective visualizations · Visualize and communicate findings and provide a quantitative framework for evaluating and analyzing alternatives Technical Skills: · Experience in Data Management, Data Integration & Analytics in diverse contexts with depth in data & information architectures - structured and unstructured preferably in Transportation or in large government for descriptive/diagnostic and predictive, prescriptive analytical needs. · Past or current experience in ETL development using Informatica or other compatible ETL solution · Expereince using Information BDM (Big Data Management) · Expertise in big data application data architecture and supporting implementation · Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agencies · Knowledge of modern enterprise data architectures, design patterns, and data toolsets and the ability to apply them · Strong knowledge and experience of SQL and proficiency in data modeling techniques and understanding of normalization · Experience implementing or supporting Data Integration of Big Data with Sqoop or similar tools · Experience working with AWS S3   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
