Interview Process: Phone and Skype (For Non local candidates) The EIT team is looking for an Application System Engineer to work in a fast-paced agile development environment to act as a Big data developer for Hadoop/Aster technologies. The candidate will support an application supporting unstructured data processing and transformation. The job responsibilities: • Analyze highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. • Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. • Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. • Support overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. • Maintain the application code base and provide support for any code maintenance. • Develop new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. • Hadoop development and implementation. • Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design. • Test prototypes and oversee handover to operational teams. • Propose best practices/standards Required Qualifications: • 7+ years application development and implementation experience. • 3+ years of Hadoop experience • 3+ years of HIVE experience • 2+ years of Spark Programming experience (using Java or Scala) • 5+ years of SQL experience Desired Qualifications: • Strong desire to learn Big data Technology • Experience in different Big data eco system tools – Spark, SOLR, HBase, etc. • Experience with multiple databases – Teradata, DB2, Oracle etc. • Hadoop developer certification • Experience with unstructured datasets, such as log files, email, text • Experience as a scrum master or agile development methodologies • Collaborating and working in a team environment • Experience with code repository, build and deployment tools – Gradle, Artifactory, GitHub, uDeploy   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
