As a Systems Analyst (SA), this individual will, at a minimum, be working with individuals from the Health and Human Services Information Technology Services (ITS) division, the San Diego County Information Technology Outsourcing Contractor (DXC Technology) (DXC)), and third party vendors to assist BHS with related projects. This positon will be on-site with the client in San Diego, CA. Position Details: The SA will collaborate with clients, vendors, teammates, and other teams to meet customer, regulatory and Information Systems infrastructure requirements for application implementations and upgrades. In addition, the SA will analyze system problems, use creativity to provide viable solutions, execute detailed test plans, create thorough documentation, and conduct peer reviews. A diverse customer base includes clinical and support staff, management, and physicians. The SA is a critical link between systems, technology resources, teams, departments, and operational healthcare staff and leadership professionals. They are an advocate for the clinician and business leaders translating clinical and business standards and requirements into technical specifications. The SA provides expertise and support to highly visible, sensitive, and multi-faceted initiatives. They are responsible for the successful turnover of projects and requests to production. In addition, the SA: Evaluates the existing information processing systems or manual work flows to evaluate effectiveness and recommend changes to improve production or workflow as required Provides recommendations for the most efficient and cost-effective solutions Assists with the implementation of software application systems and insures stakeholders are engaged and/or kept informed, as desired, throughout the project Works closely with BHS staff, developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction Maintains current applications and interfaces to ensure updates/corrections are completed as necessary Tests and troubleshoots routine applications and recommends and/or implements solutions Qualifications: Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field Five years experience administering, testing, maintaining medical information systems or knowledge of clinician workflow analysis Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical, and business systems and computer-based hospital systems to include: process and workflow analysis, systems/applications analysis, project lifecycle implementation Implementation and upgrade experience with previous integrated Healthcare Information Systems with emphasis on EHR applications/systems (Cerner, NTTData, etc.). Experience with pharmacy systems (Etreby, Millennium, PharmNet, Pyxis, Prodigy, etc.) Experience with healthcare/hospital workforce schedulers and interfaces with State systems (Kronos, In-house spreadsheets, etc.) Experience with inventory systems Experience with incident reporting systems Must possess skills and experience in oral and written communications.
