The role supports all of IT by monitoring and analyzing system performance and providing recommendations on steps to improve. The Performance and Stability team ensures that technology performs efficiently and consistently. The team establishes processes and procedures that are used by both the development and infrastructure teams in both a development and operations capacity. The team is responsible for establishing and maintaining the tools that are leveraged in monitoring and analyzing system performance across a variety of systems. As a Performance and Stability Engineer you will use your strong technical ability to facilitate these capabilities across many different technologies and teams. Performance and Stability Engineers are tasked with monitoring operational systems, identifying root cause of performance anomalies, and providing tuning recommendations. The role requires you to have hands-on technical experience and a passion for performance tuning and continuous improvement. Experience of having worked in a multi-disciplined team with multiple operating systems, technology platforms, and complex integrations is essential. You should possess an ability to communicate the value that performance optimization provides. You should have experience and passion for explaining performance charts, graphs, and definitions to both technical and non-technical audiences. You should be a hybrid systems and software engineer who is responsible and takes ownership for reliability, scalability, automation, and other issues related to uptime and availability and see problems through to resolution. Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve performance issues. Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams. Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers. Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues. Document designs, solutions, and problem resolution steps, creating knowledge base articles when appropriate. Participate in rotating on-call coverage or emergency response. Be familiar with regulatory & security standards, best practices and company requirements. Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. Responsible for the monitoring, alerting, analysis, and recommendations that measure and improve performance and stability in a manner that produces the best possible customer experience. Design, implement, and maintain tools for monitoring and alerting on performance and reliability of systems. Configure tooling and instrumentation to build a cohesive picture of system performance across the ecosystem. Identify metrics and trends that can be used as KPIs that are aligned to business goals and business metrics. Design and configure tools to monitor and produce meaningful alerts that help identify and respond to issues in a timely fashion.
