Job Title: Junior Telecommunications Specialist

Job Summary:
The Junior Telecommunication Support provides support via the telephone, using remote desktop tools or should the need arise is in attendance at the users division location. The individual will provide support to all DECAL users and is the primary point of contact for all users telecommunication needs.
The Junior Telecommunication Specialist performs the installation, repair, and planning of telephone, data, video and voice and data processing telecommunications systems. The job description will include voice transmission, cellular capabilities and data communication. Performs work involved in developing, refining and complying with telecommunications systems planning.

Job Responsibilities:

Vendor Support

• Work with current device accounts, new service orders
• Evaluate new devices, mobile solutions, and vendor offerings as a means of enhancing company standards
• Ensure the distribution all office, conference and Virtual Office numbers to users within the agency
• Gain an understanding of how to order services from ATT and ONEPATH using the Stat of Georgia GETS portal.
• Assist user with conducting web and teleconference meetings, using GoToMeeting/GoToWebinar , Skype and GA Voicemail softwares
• Work with Telcom Lead on the agency telecommunication needs

Mobile Device Management Support

• Assist with agency Mobile Device Management (AirWatch) Enterprise issue with mobile devices.
• Provide staging, enrollment and deployment of mobile devices
• Support the distribution review and manage life cycle of agencies cellular devices and accessories
• Assist Lead Telcom Admin with the planning and scheduling agency device upgrade
• Provide in person and remote mobile application support

Telecommunication Support

• Create user profile assignment and device organization group assignment
• Train users on proper use of agency mobile devices
• Supports all special programmed features of users phones (i.e., Hunt Groups, Call Centers and Port Forwarding.)
• Order new service and disconnection of agency numbers

Other Support Desk Duties
• Provide Guidance and Assistance on new initiates related to job responsibilities
• Evaluate, test and validate changes implemented in technologies utilized by the agency
• Track changes of actions performed to enhance and correct issues that arise
• Create documentation for ongoing support and knowledge of job responsibilities
• Support audio/visual equipment
• Maybe provided other telecommunication and support desk task

Technical Competencies

• Understanding of wireless and telecommunication methodology.
• The ability to perform work under nominal supervision
• Must have great customer services skills
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• This position occasionally requires evening and weekend work.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Understanding of methodology to run computer systems and troubleshoot minor computer equipment malfunctions.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.


Entry Qualifications

Associates Degree from an accredited college or
university in a related field or related certifications and
2 years of IT experience providing user support on a corporate network.


Preferred Qualification
Degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Bachelors Information Technology or a related field, certifications and 1 years of help desk experience.
