This project will involve purchasing three (3) new servers with twelve (12) cores each and maximum memory and moving existing SQL Server instances on to the three (3) new servers. Furthermore, Client will be upgrading older versions of SQL Server to 2012 in the process. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Defines and prioritizes project requirements. Develops time and cost estimates, project plans, and budgets. Oversees and controls ongoing costs, schedules, resources, scope, and risks. Negotiates and persuades decision makers regarding necessary action steps to achieve the goals and objectives of the project. 2. Gathers and documents business and technical requirements. 3. Analyzes business processes, conducts interviews, and confers with management to document procedures and determine programs functional requirements 4. Determines staffing requirements and forms project teams. 5. Chairs, manages, or facilitates project meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations. Ensures that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively. Manages conflict resolution within the framework of business and project/program objectives. 6. Develops, monitors, and coordinates project activities, such as scheduling, tracking, and reporting; assess the impact of planned changes and builds contingency plans to support the change efforts. 7. Overcomes obstacles and resistance to change through the use of complex strategies to promote project/program success, such as sharing resources to solve mutual problems across the organization. 8. Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts. 9. Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule. Identifies ways to resolve schedule issues. Keeps management aware of the situation. Develops strategy and ensures integration of project plans and overall execution. 10. Assesses variances from the project plan, gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives. 11. Provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance. Uses past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement. Required Skills: o Microsoft Windows Server o Microsoft SQL Server o Virtual Servers * Project Management Certification (PMP) or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum. * Ten years of IT project management or equivalent team leadership experience managing technology projects from requirements gathering to close-out phases. Project experience must include infrastructure, process re-engineering, hardware evaluation, installation and configuration. * Experience with projects of moderate to high complexity in multiple technologies and functions with all phases of Project Life Cycle. * Expert in Business Analysis, including facilitation, information gathering, diagramming, and documentation with working experience of the complete B/A toolset. * Expert in MS Project, proficient in MS Office suite, and Visio * Clear understanding of end-to-end application delivery in a multi-platform environment (mainframe, client server, web). * Knowledgeable and experienced in the full Systems Development Life Cycle and Testing Methodologies. * Strong understanding of IT operational processes and familiarity with standards and trends in the industry relative to IT processes. * Effective verbal and written communications * Comfortable in int   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
