This position will serve as an assistant IT Project Manager on established projects, under the supervision and direction of the assigned project Lead PM, and will be primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of project documentation deliverables. Required knowledge, skills and abilities to: • Provide project management skills and prior experience in software development project management, in order to effectively coordinate a team undertaking complex software application development and integration projects. • Utilize knowledge of information technology project management best practices, techniques and methodologies to effectively manage application development, meet deliverable deadlines, and insure that stakeholder requirements for system functionality and implementation are met. Complete deliverables according to approved schedules, and within scope, on schedule and on (or under) budget, consistent with WSDOT OIT standards. Specific duties include: • Day to day interaction with mid-level managers of WSDOT business units, project stakeholders, consultants and project team members • Excellent written communication skills will be essential for documentation of the project, as well as in communicating various issues and meeting the customers expectations • Excellent verbal communication skills and clear, logical thought processes are essential to effectively lead a diverse team of IT professionals • Working with the business stakeholders, fulfill the business needs with the systems development and implementation effort • Using business requirements, leading the team in the definition and documentation of system functional specifications • Coordinating system requirements documentation • Organizing and coordinating the participation of user groups and other project support staff • Establishing user interest, support and acceptance for the project • Soliciting the involvement of the stakeholders and other users in the creation and review of project deliverables • Creating the required project documentation as specified by the Office of Information Technology • Creating and maintaining the project work breakdown structure, requirements matrix and stakeholder matrices • Creating and maintaining project issues log, risk log, and develops risk mitigation strategies • Creating and maintaining detailed project work plans using the standard IT project management tools • Creating and maintaining project resource plans, schedules and budgets • Creating and maintaining project change control and issues resolution processes and logs • Documenting and evangelizing any changes to the project scope, schedule or budget • Maintaining open channels of communication between project teams and management   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
