Submit and execute z/TPF utilities and batch jobs. Monitor system consoles for error conditions and messages, and respond by entering appropriate z/TPF commands, to ensure the ongoing performance, availability, and integrity of z/TPF systems. Follow ITIL processes to create incident and problem tickets as needed. Qualifications: Education and Experience Required: 3+ years of professional experience as an IBM z/TPF mainframe console operator in tightly coupled and loosely coupled environments, and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience (5+ years in total). Knowledge and Skills Required: Strong skills and experience operating IBM z/TPF mainframe systems in tightly coupled and loosely coupled environments. Experience with IBM mainframe z/VM mainframe operations. Strong problem solving skills. Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to work accurately to documented procedures with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: Provide expertise for IT infrastructure (e.g. servers, network), application infrastructure (e.g. SAP), and related services (e.g. Business Continuity) throughout the lifecycle of a deal in accordance with contractually established terms and conditions and established technical standards. Provides technical input, solutions, and recommendations to deal pursuit. Engaged in and provides support for transition/transformation efforts. Monitors service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards, and customers and/or internal businesses/end user requirements. Provides IT infrastructure and/or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including planning, project management, installation, on-going management/monitoring/troubleshooting, and de-installation, following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards (e.g. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)). Manages the technical/service relationship between HP and the customer, and between HP and subcontractors/vendors. Works with the key customers and/or internal businesses/end user representatives (Infrastructure Support Managers, Client Manager and the Account Delivery Manager) to retain customers and build the business. ITO Service Delivery work is generally performed remotely from an HP facility, but may be performed at the customers location when required/justified. Specialist: Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience. May have Masters degree in related field. Often holds entry-level certification(s) in work field. May hold intermediate-level certification(s) in work field. Typically 5+ years of relevantexperience. Need planning, finance, analysis, innovation and communication skills. May require project management skills.
