These contractors are to address 6 unfilled positions in the team while we re-align the structure of the team. The Sr Desktop Engineer is primarily responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the desktop standards and configuration management infrastructure. The responsibilities include working with the business and other teams to define desktop standards and solutions based on business and security requirements, defining technology roadmaps, prioritizing work efforts, and communicating standards to the business. Common functions include desktop consults with other teams, desktop image management, staff training, application packaging and deployment, anti-virus management, project resource estimates and timelines, and patch management. Skills: Provide leadership and technical expertise to evaluate, install and maintain both hardware and software solutions to accurately meet the needs of our customers on a timely basis. Lead the development of the desktop strategy by evaluating new technology developments and solutions, and ensuring the desktop strategy and processes are updated as technology changes. Lead the development of desktop standards, and desktop management processes based on business and security requirements, and then communicating these standards to the business. Oversee the creation and integration of system-wide device management standards, support policies, and procedures. Lead the team to perform tasks associated with upgrades, testing, design, evaluation, installation, configuration, documentation, device management, and operating technologies. Coach and mentor staff regarding technology, methodologies, process, and standards. Proactively share knowledge and collaborate with IT teams to ensure quick and effective responses to customer needs. Partner with leadership to evaluate and prioritize work efforts. Lead all efforts across IT to develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the implementation and support of the desktop environment. Effectively engage vendors, partners, and other teams to accomplish project goals and deadlines. Required: 7-10 years technology experience 7+ years of experience with Desktop Engineering 7+ years of experience in analyzing operations, coordinating planning/design/testing enterprise-wide solutions that advance business value and facilitate high-availability, security, and control of end-points Preferred Proven technical project leadership with large-scale desktop management in a healthcare or other regulated industry Education Bachelors degree in technology field or equivalent work experience.
