DAY TO DAY/ABOUT THE ROLE Must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and be adept at tactfully managing a wide array of customers and their needs. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities required. Ability to provide high level of customer service and reduce technical information to simple language. Ability to clearly document issues so that they may be easily interpreted by other staff members. Working knowledge of industry ITSM Tools is required. Must be punctual. Provide technical and analytical support for the day-to-day operations within IT Asset management area including software and hardware life-cycle for faculty and staff. Inventory, auditing, reconciliation, departmental asset transfer and repository management. Perform the technical and analytical support for the day-to-day operations of the software and hardware life-cycle to ensure compliance to the IT Asset Management best practices. Monitor and record hardware assets, warranties and maintenance agreements in accordance with industry best practices and internal procedures. Perform surplus of equipment, ensuring electronic media sanitization/destruction in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia security standards. Perform reconciliation audits to compare ITAM database against inventory, identifying gaps and ensuring the university assets are accounted for. Generate, distribute and review weekly IT Asset Management reports. Knowledge and understanding of software metering, auditing and true-up cycles are required. Assist in the Reconciliation process of Software repository with ISO Approval list on a semiannual basis. Perform minor repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment. Elevate major repairs and warranty repairs to vendor for quick resolution, tracking cost and repair status across the entire lifecycle of the repair. With the IT Asset Management Lead, or other designee as defined, plan for an participate in IMAC and annual refreshes of hardware assets. Responds to other duties as assigned (ad hoc assignments) as directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/office and agency Monitor the IT Asset Management queue on a daily basis. Resolve all incident reports within the timelines prescribed for the severity level. Report all academic outages or degraded capabilities within Established clients SLAs. Update ticket notes with clear and accurate information to ensure that the life cycle of the ticket accurately captured.
