The scope of this work involves working with both business and IT subject matter experts, steering committee, vendors, and executives to ensure the solution implementation meets or exceeds DOL expectations. The scope of work includes architecture expertise in application architecture, solutions architecture, and enterprise architecture. Specific work in scope includes: • Technical leadership for all non-functional requirements – architecture, data, security, integration, etc. • Assessment and analysis of product architectures and solution designs for compliance with DOL policies and architecture standards. This includes assessment of any technical debt and poor design decisions and follow up with project team and vendor for resolution. • Review of data structures, including reporting databases and analytical modules • Documenting complete architecture stack of the solution • Data reporting and analytics assessment and design • Integration and enablement of foundational infrastructure pieces (e.g. Active Directory) • Development of any architecture, integration, and design standards • Executive presentations on risks, design options, with actionable recommendations • Developing cost scenarios for different architecture and solution designs • Staffing skills assessment for supporting products • Process re-engineering Out of scope: • Design and programming of new systems – this is either delegated to internal developers or contracted vendors. At completion of this initial scope of work, DOL may extend the contract and utilize the same resource(s) to provide similar scope of work on other emerging projects/initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities DOL is seeking an expert-level Solutions Architect to support architecture design and assurance on key mission critical projects. The architect resource will ensure all facets of the solution and architecture is designed to DOL requirements, and is positioned for long term sustainability. Desired Qualifications: • Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture, data and integration structures • Strong experience with integration methodologies, APIs, and Mulesoft • Experience with technology architecture documentation and assessment • Experience with large scale systems planning, design, implementation, and data migration • Strong facilitation and consensus building skills with business and technical SMEs • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive presentations Work Requirements DOL is seeking an expert-level Solutions Architect to support architecture design and assurance on key mission critical projects.
