Description :

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate designs, implements, and sustains engineering of Companys applications and services.
Specific areas of focus will be proof of concept and evaluation of innovative methods to virtualize various elements of our IMS and Advanced Voice networks.
System admin skills and deep knowledge of hardware and software, is needed.
Oversees full life cycle product development to include analysis and planning related to product development, launch and deployment.
May act as the interface to third party vendors from a business and engineering perspective with respect to requirements generation for meeting Company goals and with respect to licensable technology.
Develops financial and operational objectives.
Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives.
May contributes to functional strategy development.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Server hardware operation, administration, management, and provisioning -Enterprise storage solution design, configuration and management (SANs, fibre channel, iSCSI)
2+ years experience administering UNIX operating systems (Red Hat)
2+ Linux preferred
Development/Operations tooling (HP OneView, Puppet, Ansible, Foreman, Chef, Kickstart)
Device monitoring, control and alerting technology (SNMP, syslog)
Working knowledge of scripting and markup languages commonly used for administration (Shell scripting, TCL, Expect, Perl, Python, YAML
Experience with enterprise virtualization design, implementation, and administration.
Experience across multiple hypervisors (VMware vSphere, RHEV, KVM, Openstack, AWS, Google Cloud)
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery leveraging virtualization platforms (live migration, vMotion)
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) –A desktop and server virtualization platform from Red Hat that is based on the KVM hypervisor as well as the companys Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server operating system.
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, or RHEV, provides a RHEL-based centralized management server with a web-based interface for managing virtual machines (VMs) called the RHEV Manager.
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is based on open standards and works with Linux and Windows, as well as enterprise applications like SAP, SAS and Oracle.

Notes :
We need strong candidates (typically DevOps engineers) with RedHat Linux that also has experience with KVM OR RHEV. Docker or ansible is a nice to have.
