Description :

Responsibilities :

* Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions for mobile sites/applications.
* Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.
* Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
* Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large scale system.
* Maintains records to document program development and revisions.
* Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
* Provides technical support to technical vendor resources
* Candidate will follow the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and MetLifes change management process.
* The ideal candidate will need to have strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
* Ideal candidate will also have the ability to analyze problems and drive business and IT teams to resolution.
* Interface with business to help design optimal mobile user interface.
* As appropriate; designs and codes business process models; designs and codes business rules and algorithms.
* Mentor more junior staff.
* Reviews work products from team and vendor consultants.
* May act as program/technical lead on multi-project activities.
* Provides technical & analytical support and guidance to project team members.

Required Skills :

* 8+ years of software development experience
* 5+ years of Java (J2EE) Development experience including 3 years of experience developing sites for mobile devices and developing applications that interface with mobile device clients on various mobile platforms.
* Experience on iOS and Android platforms is a must
* Experience on Blackberry and Windows mobile platforms is a plus
Java Certification is a plus.
* Must be proficient in SDLC processes
* Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite including MS Project and Visio tools.
* Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with IT and business individuals and teams at all organizational levels.
* Must be a self-directed and highly motivated with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Must be a good team player.
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills along with relationship building abilities
eBusiness experience a major plus
* Previous experience or knowledge of MetLife businesses / processes is a plus
