Senior Applications Architects are familiar with a variety of the application technologies, environments, concepts, methodologies, practices, and procedures and rely on experience and judgment plan and accomplish goals. Senior Applications Architects are able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. The Senior Applications Architect will have proven experience defining systems and application architecture. Additionally, the Senior Applications Architect will provide a clear vision to management and team members of how the architecture will resolve issues and provide the needed functionality and features being requested. The person filling this position must have excellent skills in risk analysis, problem solving, and creative thinking. Agency Expected Deliverables Experience: Six years plus software development, testing, and/or project management Education: Four-year college degree in computer science or related field with advance study preferred Description of skills and knowledge include: • Manages, organizes, and administers systems analysis and preparation of applications and operating systems programming to process data and solve problems by use of computers. • Establishes priorities and schedules, and oversees and reviews work of systems analysis personnel and programming personnel • Assists in the development of standards, procedures, and operating systems applications. • Works with stakeholders and management to ensure projects are completed on time and according to organization standards. • Consults with management to clarify systems and programs intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of application systems changes required. • Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions. • May supervise other contractors. • Providing On-Call support as needed. Specific Skills Required (Programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc.) Ability to collaborate with development teams and other architects in an Agile environment for problem solving. What we are looking for is a strong technical contributor who can quickly come up to speed on our application infrastructure, both from a hardware and software perspective (Applications). The candidate filling this position must be able to assist developers in resolving technical issues and assisting in the implementation of new technologies. Our current environment consists of: Clustered environments Apache – Web Servers JBoss – Application Servers Oracle 12c –(New Oracle features RAC, Golden Gate, 24x7, and DR) Performance monitoring tool - AppDynamics Linux (CentOS) and Windows OS environments Continuous integration development environment - (MyEclipse, Developer Appliance, Jenkins Automated build and deployment tool, automated testing processes, Docker/Kubernetes, maven, JRebel/XRebel, Sonarsource, JIRA, logsstash, Nagios, JMock, Junit, ) Legacy Java application. 1.8 million lines of J2EE code based on GRNDS framework (pre-struts), multiple 3rd party tools integrated into core applications (Adobe Livecycle, OPA rules engine, Siteminder, etc.) Additional J2EE applications (angularJS, Spring 4.X, html5, Mulesoft, AMQ, Adobe AEM, node.js ) Alfresco/Activiti (BPM), Microsoft Dynamics and Azure Cloud would be desirable but not required.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
