The APIs will be developed using J2EE SOA standards, utilize java microservices, and implement standard health messaging standards, just as HL7 and FHIR. Software will be hosted on RedHat Linux servers using Apache and Tomcat. Experience configuring Tomcat on Linux a plus. The APIs will query a variety of databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL. The APIs will provide client authentication and authorization, using OATH2 and integrate with the state Utah Master Directory, for all requests and keep a detailed audit log of all transactions. Additionally, appropriate data security standards must be met, and approved data encryption techniques will be used. The Controlled Substance Medication Integration (CSMI) project will design, develop, and implement health information exchange between the controlled substance database and EHR systems for clinical providers and hospitals to allow for enhanced care coordination of patients receiving controlled substance medications, such as opioids, to improve quality of care and reduce opioid overdose, addiction, and death. This project has four areas: 1) Develop master person linkage within the states Controlled Substance Database (CSD) as required for health information exchange to link medication records to patients within EHR systems for care coordination, medication reconciliation and clinical decision support. 2) Develop web API layer to support health information exchange between the CSD and external systems to extract and transform controlled substance medications to be consumable into EHR systems. 3) Onboard new providers and EHR systems to the clinical Health Information Exchange (CHIE). 4) Develop enhanced analytics for use in clinical decision support and care coordination   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
