Prefer someone with a development background or experience troubleshooting API integration issues who wont need to escalate every issue to dev teams and can assist from a technical perspective when there are issues, not just bring all parties together and manage the situation. Get your hands dirty. o Most issues involve API integration issues. Data isnt stored on the application itself. It pushes and pulls info from many, many different sources, hence all of the API integration issues. o Experience troubleshooting API integration issues would be a big plus. · This application is the primary call center application used by M&R call centers. When members call in with questions on their plan, a claim, need assistance finding a provider, script refills, etc. this is the app that the call center agent is using. Primarily Medicaid and retirement members. Case management application. · Stability and availability are the #1 priority for this team. Cannot have any latency or performance issues, or else there will be long hold times and things back way up. Need to stay on top of all issues/hiccups, even small ones. · Reason for need: replacing an offshore systems reliability engineer. · Main goal of this position: watch and respond to availability and reliability of the application. Respond to P1/P2 war room issues. Drive performance improvements, work with other teams and push those improvements. · Profile: o Well rounded IT experience o App is built on Pega, so Pega experience is preferred (not required) o Web service integration experience is also preferred. API integration and REST integrations. 90% of traffic involves web services because this application calls on member info from many other sources (that info isnt stored on it). Every member search executes 13-14 APIs. o Java development experience is also preferred. o Dont need to be a developer, but if this person has worked on integrations, that would be ideal. o Performance Test Engineers also may have right mindset and technical exposure (manager has had good experience with these profiles) o MUST HAVE one of the following: 1) Pega 2) Java development 3) web service/API integrations § If really strong in one of these areas, they may be able to make it work. If strong with multiple, then that would be ideal. Regardless, this resource is going to get trained up on a lot of technologies o Troubleshooting and incident response experience. Will be troubleshooting issues on all layers. § Root cause analysis – need to find what is causing the problem. Find the source and then get the right teams/people involved to fix it quickly. o APM experience (application performance monitoring) is very much preferred (Splunk, Dynatrace, Dcrum, AppDynamics, New Relic, etc.) § If no APM experience, must be really strong in the other areas o Respond to Splunk alerts – typically happen when thresholds are exceeded · Team = 12-13 people. 3 are onshore (not technical, more of business focused liaisons) · Normal business hours. Any off hours incidents after 10pm are handled by the offshore team. There will be on-call responsibilities in this role.
