Job Description Specialist: Java, JSP/Servlets, Spring, Oracle sybase J2EE JBOSS

Client is seeking Professional/Technical Services to augment staff for the analysis, design, & development of enterprise J2EE application systems developed and/or supported by the Information Technology Services (ITS) division of the System Office.

Business Need:

Provide temporary staff augmentation to assist in the design and implementation of J2EE Enterprise Software Applications.
The project has multiple IT application development tasks requiring Senior J2EE Technical Analysis &Development.

Currently, lacks the capacity, J2EE experience or expertises to satisfactory meet the application development needs being requested from a variety of business units including Human Resources, Finance, and Academic Affairs.Supplementing System Office ITS division staff will help provide an effective application development capability to meet the expanding short and long term goals of our business customers as we support existing J2EE applications and convert existing client server applications to J2EE applications.
All design work and implementation must be consistent with Architecture team standards.

Project Deliverables:

? Work with the development supervisor and team on the maintenance of existing J2EE applications.
? Work with business analyst & technical lead to understand business requirements.
? Perform analysis and participate in the design of complex technical specifications, including performing object-oriented design and analysis, for the development of programs in accordance with MnSCU software development standards.
? Transfer knowledge to existing team and newly hired team members.
? Track and report status of assigned work to the technical lead, applications supervisor,and / or project manager
* Assist in developingand executing module& system test plans.
? Support Quality Assurance staff during the QA phase by providing documentation or answering questions about the functionality of the application, and correcting reported defects.
? Support other system development staff with understanding or integration issues.
? Support Help Desk staff by answering questions about application functionality or assistance with identifying bugs or design flaws.
? Support trainers and technical writers by describing application functionality.

Responsibilities Expected of the Selected Vendor
Vendor will:
? Provide J2EE Object Oriented Developers at the location of the development team or agreed upon MnSCU Office location.
? Meet MnSCUs testing and acceptance criteria.
? Providing training/ knowledge transfer.

Required Skills:

Required minimum qualifications:
a) Master Contract resource category: Web Applications Specialist - Java/JSP/Servlets;
b) 5+ years of J2EE development experience;
c) Demonstrated experience with MnSCUs open-source platform (JBoss, Spring, Hibernate) and large relational database systems (such as Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL).

Desired Skills:
a) Experience working in higher education IT;
b) Experience converting existing web or client/server systems to J2EE.
