Responsibilities: Lead and grow a team of engineers Ensure resource requirements are properly planned ahead of time based on business needs and forecasts and that the appropriate teams (finance, operations, lab administrators) are informed accordingly Work with the development teams to optimize and size their applications correctly Implement/deploy a toolset and processes to facilitate the tasks that the team carries out, produce alarms when additional resources are needed, etc. Model our system as a whole in order to provide realistic resource forecasts Qualifications Minimum Qualifications STEM Bachelors degree and at least 3 years of experience Software development experience Unix system administration Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the organization Excellent time management skills with consistent attention to detail Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment Ability to quickly learn and communicate value of new technologies to technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications Experience with Java, Python, R and Matlab Experience with Splunk or Elk Experience with database administration Experience with VMWare or other virtualization technologies Experience with Hadoop Primary Skills : - Capacity planning for anything related to back end components (applications that serve APIs that the clients review) - All applications are Java based deployed on the private Cloud environment using VMware but moving to Openstack - Openstack and VMware are helpful - Capacity planning for life channels, streaming channels, VOD, etc. (Internal Applications or Appliances that absorb files/feeds) take care of sizing that - Fine tune the JVM parameters, memory, etc.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
