Job Description Developer: Java/J2EE, Servlets, JSP, Core Java StrutsTiles XML XSD XSL Ajax X

seeking candidates for Java Developer with eCommerce (WebSphere Commerce preferred) opening in Loveland, OH on a 5-6 month contract. Experience with WebSphere Commerce highly preferred. Work must be performed onsite in Loveland, OH.

Job Description:


* Work collaboratively on an agile team with other developers, business analysts, testers, technical / solution architect and scrum masters.

* Develop technical solutions to business problems and work collaboratively with the business to determine how best to implement new requests.

* Develop and maintain dynamic object oriented eCommerce application code with a strong emphasis on J2EE architectures and patterns.

* Participate in Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Retrospective meetings.

* Design, develop, and unit test product extensions, interfaces, applications and data conversion modules for reliability, scalability, manageability, performance and re-use.

* Create design documents supporting the agile development process.

* Contribute to reduction of technical debt through code refactoring, re-architecture & design.

* Participate in the overall solution testing as needed.

* Act as subject matter expert on areas of the application and provides support as necessary.

* Report status of work to the agile team and quickly escalates to the Scrum Master when impediments are faced.

* Continuously learn new skills and share / apply new learning with the rest of the team.

* Identify opportunities to simplify application and break new requests into minimal working parts.

* Report time and expenses accurately and on-time.

* Demonstrate flexibility and ability to work with a globally distributed team.

Required Skills:

* Minimum of 5+ years software engineering development experience, 5 years of which are Java/J2EE specific, is required.

* Expert experience in Java /J2EE technologies including: Servlets 2.3, Struts 1.3/2.0,JSP 2.0, JDBC, Core Java, Struts/Tiles, Swing and familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSL

* Experience with XML and Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc), Application server experience (WebLogic), and Configuration Management/source control tools (Git).

* OO design experience and experience applying design patterns and UML familiarity is essential.

* Unit Testing and Test Skills experience: JUnit, JMeter, etc.

* Conversant with front-end technologies - Object-Oriented JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML/DOM.

* Capable of designing the CSS library for web applications.

* Good working experience with standard JS frameworks like Jquery and Ext JS.

* Familiarity with queuing systems (e.g. MQ Series, JMS, Oracle 11.01 etc.)

* RDBMS Oracle strongly preferred.

* Significant prior Agile/Scrum experience and Agile tools (i.e., Greenhopper, etc) is desired.



Nice to Have:

* Detailed understanding of the WebSphere Commerce product framework and services methodology and apply within customer implementation projects.

* Configures Sterling Commerce products to meet customers business needs.

* Understanding of popular design patterns.
