Department Description SELP user interface was developed more than 6 years ago. The supporting software library has since been revised a number of times with significant enhancement to its security features. However, because of a number of technical issues in the SELP user interface implementation, the user interface could not be made to run with the new software library. Therefore, there is a significant known security risk that exists today int he SELP user interface. The security hole needs to be closed quickly. In addition to the security issue, the SELP program staff also have accumulated a list of needed enhancement and bugs. Below are some bugs that may be requested to be fixed: Rank Order Description 1 Issue: Security risk due to required use of old Java engine. Solution: Upgrade Java front end access to eliminate security risk. 2 Issue: Database server is housed at DAS - state data center. We have no support from them for maintenance or service. Solution: Move server to ODOE so ability to service and maintain database is in-house. 3 Issue: Current Database requires use of MS Access 2000 in a folder on hard drive called ACCESS2000 or the reports that are programmed as part of the database will not run. Solution: Ensure access to database is updated enough to use current version of MS Access for reporting 4 Issue: Risk rating categories and holding costs categories are currently defined in the Loan Code field, making reporting and sorting difficult and time consuming for these items. Solutions: 1) Add editable table for risk rating that will include fields for rating # or code and description. 2) Add field to Loan Table - Setup Process to select risk rating from drop-down list using risk table. 3) Add field for Holding Costs Charge - yes/no flag to Loan Table - Close Process - Loan info tab.
