This candidate will require strong problem solving and good communication skills. The candidate will be a team player with an experience base of 3 – 6 years in increasingly challenging assignments that cover both development and support responsibilities. The licensed i-Series application utilizes J2EE. The product requires knowledge of application servers – WebLogic and WebSphere and knowledge of databases – DB2, Oracle and SQL Server. It requires the ability to locally recreate customer environments to help troubleshoot product issues reported via an automated ticketing system. Candidate will initially be required to perform Tier 1 first-level support to customer issues via the ticketing system. This requires validating and working with customers to ensure that the issue is correctly stated and able to be reproduced and all supporting artifacts are included. Working at this level will not necessarily result in code changes being required to the product to resolve. Candidate will also perform peer reviews and high-level QA testing of changes made within the team to ensure quality enhancements. Candidate will also participate in analysis, development, testing and support of enhancements to other back-end and web-enabled products utilizing J2EE, WebLogic, SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, XML and HTML. Successful candidate will exhibit strong analysis and design skills as well as hands-on development/debugging skills. Candidate will be expected to communicate with external customers as needed in a professional manner. SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: • CS or “hard” engineering degree from major accredited university • At least 1-3 years development experience with Java, preferably J2EE • At least 1-3 years experience with SQL and a major RDBMS • At least 1-3 years experience with ANT or Maven • Knowledge of ORM framework is a plus • Knowledge of PERL is a plus • Solid knowledge of fundamental design principles • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities • Interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of customers, product managers and support engineers.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
