The QA Analyst must have a Quality Assurance background and be able to work independently and in a team environment. This person must be able to thoroughly analyze, understand and test new Data Warehouse releases and Cognos Report components. This individual will be responsible for analyzing, understanding and testing all system inputs and outputs, interfaces, and data components for various projects. The QA analyst will be working primarily on reviewing and analyzing MassHealth claims data. The QA analyst will be charged with conducting a thorough assessment of the quality of the MassHealth claims and encounter data, and will make recommendations for improving the ability to use this data to more accurately report on, for example, contraceptive use. This contractor will be fully dedicated to assessing and analyzing the quality of the data, for instance, determining to what extent the necessary data fields are present, and accurately populated, and identifying actions to improve the reliability and validity of the MassHealth claims and encounter data for calculating various measure results. The QA analyst will be using JIRA for defect tracking and will need to be familiar with that tool as well as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle and SAS. Duties •Write test plans, scripts and scenarios using QA best practices. •Build and update automated release regression test scripts •Produce test and defect summary reports •Verify and validate ETL changes and produce test automation scripts •Analyze Data Warehouse data to find data anomalies •Verify and validate data extracts as per business requirements •Verify and validate Cognos Cubes/Query/Reports as per business and technical requirements •Manage project defects in JIRA •Utilize test tracking tools as identified by supervisor •Verify that implemented defect changes have been made successfully •Monitor and report success/failure of changes •Monitor project lifecycles, including the viability of release •Work across functional groups involved in the releases •Provide maintenance and administration functions for test environments Qualifications •Familiarity with Healthcare data •Strong fundamental knowledge of Data Warehouse (tables, primary and foreign keys, indexes, partitions, views, referential integrity, functions, triggers, stored procedures and packages) •Hands on test experience with Oracle SQL, ETL, Data Model, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence based report •Experience in writing complex SQL Query in UNIX and Windows environment •Complete understanding of the QA, SQL & software development life cycles •Strong analytical problem solving skills, good verbal and communication skills •Hands on knowledge in defect management, test management & MS office tools •Excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications •BS in computer science or equivalent work experience •5+ years of software testing and QA experience •2+ years recent hands on experience with Data Warehouse testing/QA •Shell/perl/java scripts knowledge •proven ability to adhere to established release management processes   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
