We provide engineering & application support to our partners across several technologies running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux; including but not limited to Apache HTTPD Webserver, Nginx, Confluent Kafka, Oracle Java, Oracle Weblogic, Apache Tomcat, F5 iRules, Kubernetes, Docker and AppDynamics. Platform Engineerings mission is to deliver world class engineering and support for the digital channels and products that serve our customers online & mobile financial needs. Our subject matter experts identify & mitigate technical problems, motivate & empower our partners, and provide technical solutions that our business relies upon and our customers expect. As an engineer for Platform Engineering supporting the DSPT (Kafka) platform, you will attend daily scrum meetings, collaborate with team members, business partners & clients, provide the strategy, technical guidance & consultation to developers and pre-production operations teams. Your responsibilities will include establishing technology road maps, implementing standards & best practices, providing gold images of binaries, responding to security findings, performing upgrades, automating processes & procedures, identifying & mitigating technical problems, developing documentation & departmental technical procedures, and providing 4th level support to production and pre-production operation teams. Candidates should have extensive experience configuring and deploying java based web applications , automating processes & procedures, tuning & troubleshooting java applications running on Linux, working knowledge of Jira, Git, Artifactory & Jenkins, and scripting experience using Shell Perl or Python. Candidates with experience installing, configuration and supporting Confluent or Apache Kafka at a large scale is preferred. In addition, this candidate must have excellent, interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Consults at the highest technical level with clients and IT management and staffs enterprise-wide on design, planning, integration, implementation, scalability, problem definition and resolution of Web and e-commerce engineering issues involving the interrelated demands of hardware, software, telecommunications, security and control. Consults on tactical topics such as system interfaces, integration of e-commerce with core business systems, systems availability and response targets, customer service and support. Defines and resolves problems related to widely different platforms, hardware, software, coding structures, communication protocols. Works with vendors and common carriers to resolve Webrelated issues. Resolves connectivity issues and workflow problems. Recommends scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate Web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new Web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web. Consults with staff responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets.
