Candidate must be our W2 Employee Description : IMS Database Administrator (DBA) for Mainframe application with broad and deep knowledge of IMS (on-line and Batch), from a system and application perspective, as well as other technologies/tools, e.g. BMC Mainview, Delta IMS, HALDB and fast path databases, Storage, Endevor, JCL, and Batch processing. Using IMS knowledge, this position will provide technical leadership and guidance to the mainframe IMS application and support teams and will collaborate with the Mainframe Operation teams to ensure the applications are highly available: - Based on applications requirements perform all changes to IMS databases in Test and Production environments - Implement and maintain Database backup and recovery strategy - Provide Production support - on-call 7x24 - Provide troubleshooting and problem determination during outage or daily issues - Provide Performance tuning - Monitor space utilization - Support DR exercises - Maintain and Enforce Database standard and best practices - Assist with testing and validation of database software upgrades (IMS v14) This position will also participate in all event bridges and lead the technical trouble shooting and implementation of the solution. Lead the postmortem technical meeting with the application, technical teams and partner vendors. Incumbent exercises considerable judgement in the resolution of technical problems and in all administrative and professional situations.
