High-Level Individual Duties: • Building microservices • Injecting from the source system with Kafka o New connection…these DBs and Apps have never been connected • Transforming to send to the platform • Move the source system to AWS at some point (TBD on time frame) Timeline / Current–State: Modernization is going to take 2+ additional years Development Methodology: Agile/Scrum – 2 weeks Team Size & Breakdown: 14-15 people that they plan to split into 7-8 person scrum teams (all engineers) Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools): • Personality / soft skills is huge – they need good communicators who can contribute to design • 10+ years of experience o Kafka – Real-time o Java / Springboot – Microservices o DevOps skills – more about concepts than tools (pipelines built but changing the source ingestion model) o ATDD / TDD – Need to understand the process…at bare minimum need to have done Unit, Regression etc. ?
