The Project Architect focuses on efforts from the technical design perspective, leading technical discussions and working with member organizations as well as assisting with the selection of IT products. • Initiates and leads architecture design sessions with other SMEs; meets with impacted teams to get their input and owns final design • Coordinates, develops, and ensures delivery of the project architecture design and security management plans • Identifies candidate services (enterprise web services) • Creates and delivers standards presentations for proposed project technologies that are not currently in use, or any technologies that are being considered by the project for a different use case other than what is board-approved • Prepares the project architecture documentation for review by the Enterprise Architect (multiple stages); addresses any gaps or recommended changes as directed by the Enterprise Architect • Documents and seeks approval for any major architectural decisions • Prepares and presents the request for waivers to standards • Schedules and delivers any required architecture presentations • Leads the architectural change management process; manages technical change control for signed off design in coordination with the Project / Program Manager • Collaborates with the Development Lead to ensure conformance to the project architecture during delivery • Provides input into testing requirements Skills required: • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field • Strong expertise in retail systems, in particular experience with workforce management including time & attendance and labor scheduling applications • Expertise within large global retail environments • At least ten years of experience in solution areas such as application design and development, application integration, middleware, database management or operations, information security, technical architecture • Progressive and extensive responsibility working directly with modern, large-scale enterprise application implementations • Proven ability to develop and document solution designs. Understands architecture constructs (architecture & design patterns, web services and integration, databases, software development practices, infrastructure and networking principles) • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; solid time and project management skills; ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities, ability to take the initiative while working comfortably with ambiguity • Analytical ability and strong judgment in creating, analyzing and reviewing application solutions with complex requirements • Understanding of architecture principles, frameworks, methodologies, and practices • Experience working with the Kronos suite of applications is a plus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
