Job Description Engineer: LAN Cabling, LAN/WAN, Network Infrastructure,

Description:

Under the direct supervision, assists with the installation and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems. Assists in the planning and evaluation of existing network systems. Assists in the development of technical standards and interface applications, evaluation of new products and network problem resolutions. Provides assistance in network planning, engineering and architecture Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations involving readily identifiable problems. Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.

Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Requires expert knowledge of LAN cabling and network infrastructure components.

This position shall have experience and be familiar with the Network infrastructure codes and standards: ANSI, TIA, EIA, NEC, and NFPA

Typically requires a two year degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering and two years experience and knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications. Frequently reports to a State Network LAN/WAN Manager.
