This person will be used to supplement team. ABOUT THE ROLE: This position serves as a Technical Analyst II with experience in system administration and Point-of-Sale system knowledge. This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, documentation, and security of the Virginia ABC Retail Environment (in-store Virginia ABC Retail servers, registers, licensee workstations, VeriFone terminals, handheld scanners, and wireless access points) and supporting infrastructure (all servers and systems not in stores that directly support the retail environment). This position is responsible for the analysis and resolution of hardware/software problems associated with the Virginia ABC Retail Environment and supporting infrastructure. This position detects, diagnoses, and reports serious issues to management with possible solutions. This position is considered a SME and cross trains with other IT Operations team members providing expert level help when necessary to other Virginia ABC personnel. Knowledge: • Systems administration knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, and Linux OS to include but not limited to Windows 7, 8, Server 2008 / Server 2012, OSX, RedHat, and iOS • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, DNS, WSUS, and DHCP • In-depth knowledge of EMC Networker, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Data Domain Operating System • Installation, configuration, and day-to-day management of Symantec Endpoint Protection in a variety of network environments, troubleshooting and tuning the performance of this product in the enterprise environment. • Working knowledge of VMware, and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization platforms • Working knowledge of SAN technology • Troubleshoot and resolve of Point-of-Sale environment hardware/software issues (SAP Transactionware) • Working Knowledge of SCCM and SCOM Skills: • Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with a variety of people. • Strong organizational skills applied across multiple concurrent projects. • Improves existing team processes • Creates effective documentation to be used by others Abilities: • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. • Demonstrated ability in interpreting and implementing agency policies and procedures • Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose and reconcile agency software/hardware/network problems related to signature downloading or updating • Demonstrated ability to perform administrative tasks to configure, deploy and maintain Symantec Endpoint Protection clients installed and operational on Servers & Workstations • Ability to communicate effectively with the agency user community • Ability to interface with Project Managers to ensure requirements are gathered for projects and that project status is communicated. • Competencies: • This position should able to asses user needs, troubleshoot problems, and provide excellent customer support. • This position should able to deploy hardware and software, provide training on new hardware and software and monitor metrics and performance. •   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
