Job Description: Microsoft Active Directory Architect Project Overview: The Microsoft Windows Engineering team is looking for a highly technical Microsoft Windows / Active Directory Infrastructure Systems Architect that can be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, administration, and security of the departments Windows Server / Active Directory-based environment. The Systems Architect will serve as a technical expert in the redesign and implementation of Active Directory 2019 in a large enterprise environment. Contractors Role: Northern Trust is hiring a Microsoft Active Directory Architect into our Information Technology Shared Services Organization. This role will help define AD architecture, road mapping and support processes within our Infrastructure Systems team. Work collectively with senior level business teams to ensure optimal results. Aside from the business specific knowledge, the individuals will also possess a complete understanding and mastery of the enterprise software development lifecycle. Experience Level: • 7+ years hands-on experience in Windows / Active Directory environments • 4+ years hands-on experience in a complex architectural environment • Must be a seasoned consultant with Active Directory Design experience in a large enterprise environment with strong knowledge of AD Domain migrations, GDPR/CSSF and domain resizing experience • Should have experience upgrading Active Directory 2012 to 2019 and strong Azure AD knowledge • Experience in o Windows Server / Active Directory, and related services o Auditing methodologies o Security methodologies o Virtualization methodologies o Firewalls and tiered environment methodologies o High Availability and Disaster Recovery methodologies Qualifications: The individual will require the necessary skills to perform the following job duties (plus other related duties as assigned): The individual should be familiar with standard operating procedures and best practices in the listed technology areas, and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals: • Participate in the analysis and redesign of existing infrastructure systems and services • Participate in the analysis, design and implementation of future infrastructure systems and services • Participate in the identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation • Create and maintain documentation on SOPs and System Design • Perform capacity planning, upgrades and expansion of Active Directory environment • Windows Server and Active Directory • Windows Server and Active Directory Security • Active Directory integrated applications (includes single sign-on) • ADFS Services • DNS services • DHCP services • NTP services • Auditing technologies and tools, and provide reports, as needed • Auditing and security policies and procedures • SCCM and WSUS, for both servers and desktops • Virtualization • Firewalls • High Availability / Disaster Recovery • n-Tier infrastructure Tasks and Responsibilities: • Provide ultimate responsibility for design, architecture, and support of Microsoft Active Directory and key subcomponents • Design, document, test, and implement appropriate backup and disaster-recovery mechanisms for all Microsoft enterprise platforms (Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, etc.) • Continuously identify, plan, and implement necessary upgrades to support capacity planning, business requirements, and Microsoft OS/domain upgrades • Implement scalable solutions to support critical infrastructure services running in Active Directory, such as LDAP, DNS, and authenti   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
